What was the first selfie ever taken?

Selfie is a word almost everyone knows what does it mean. Almost everyone takes Selfies nowadays. But how did this word became this popular? The word 'Selfie' was first used by Australian Science Commentator Karl Kruszelnicki, popular as Dr. Karl. Selfie was considered as an Oxford Dictionary word in 2013 and was chosen as the 'Word of the Year' due to its popularity. And in 2014, celebrity Ellen Degrace tweeted a group selfie taken at Oscar Awards Ceremony with celebrities including her self, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Lupita Nyong'o, Kevin Spacey, Meryl Streep and Jared Leto. This gave a huge boost throughout the world in all social media and news, making the word 'Selfie' more popular than before. However, when we look into history of Selfie, the first person to take a selfie was by the pioneer of photography and a lamp manufacturer Robert Cornelius in 1839. The photograph is considered as the first photographic portrait image of a human ever captured.
